10 Movies Many Might Have Missed, But Deserve Second Chances & Are Amazing!

So, everyone might have wondered about many movies which go unnoticed and only a few of this very large population visit it in theaters.

Many might come to know about these movies from their friends, family, relatives, or the very famous and our constant support nowadays - the Internet.

Some of the movies might be available on some other streaming platform other than the mentioned ones, so, do look out for that too.

I have curated a list of some of these movies which many of you might love and suggest others to watch too. So, here we go.


1. Socha Na Tha

This film starred unknown faces back then and sometimes even now, Abhay Deol & Ayesha Takia.

This movie was so simple with a good soundtrack and was grounded in reality.

The basic storyline is - The 2 main leads reject each other for arranged marriage which their family proposed them to. Later, through multiple twists and turns, their friendship slowly grows and they start falling in love.

It even has a good IMDB rating of 7.5.

This movie was directed by Imtiaz Ali, and I really became a fan of him through multiple of his new movies and visited this old gem some time ago and was even hooked to this.

It is available on Netflix and even free on YouTube.


2. Akaash Vani

This film stars in well-known faces Kartik Aaryan & Nushrat Bharucha.

Many people know Luv Ranjan for his Pyaar Ka Punchnama series and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety which also starred the same actors.

But this is one film of his filmography, not many talk about and that's the issue.

This was a very earnest attempt at a simple love story between two college students, their breaking up because of the societal pressures, studies, and meeting again in a college reunion.

This movie had some very good songs and beautiful cinematography.

It has a little low IMDB of 6.2, but it is seriously worth visiting one time.

It is available on Amazon Prime Video and even free on YouTube.


3. Sanam Teri Kasam

This film starred Harshvardhan Rane & Mawra Hocane.

This movie was bashed by many critics and avoided by many people in theatres.

I came across this movie through its soundtrack and my god, this movie has some of my favorite songs by Arijit Singh, Ankit Tiwari, Neeti Mohan, and many others.

This movie is on point in its romance and can make you cry also as it is really intense and heart-breaking.

Don't miss this movie as it is sincerely a very good watch.

It has a good IMDB rating of 7.3.

This movie was directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru.

It is available on Amazon Prime Video.


4. October

This movie stars Varun Dhawan & Banita Sandhu.

This movie is so soothing and so pleasant, that I was mesmerized in the story, the beautiful scenery, the characters, and whatnot.

The main leads are interns at a hotel and are normal friends while going through their daily grind and jobs. One incident occurs which changes everyone's lives and the protagonist cannot let go of the thing and just becomes obsessed with that. Highly Highly recommend.

It has a good IMDB rating of 7.5.

This movie was directed by Shoojit Sircar.

It is available on Netflix.


5. Blackmail

This movie starring Legendary Irrfan Khan, Kirti Kulhari, & Arunoday Singh is a comedy thriller directed by Delhi Belly fame Abhinay Deo.

Irrfan sir's character is not interested in his professional as well as personal life and he then finds out that his wife is cheating on him with some other guy who is incompetent.

Instead of talking it out with his wife, he blackmail's the duo to settle some debts and bills. And the film takes multiple twists and turns with multiple characters wanting their share in this blackmail.

It has a good IMDB rating of 7.1

6. Photograph

This movie stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui & Sanya Malhotra.

The grandmother of Nawazuddin sir's character pressurizes him to get married and so he tells a shy stranger to pose as his fiancee. They ultimately start bonding and their lives intertwine.

It has an IMDB rating of 6.8.

This movie was directed by The Lunchbox fame Ritesh Batra.

It is available on Amazon Prime Video.


7. Sonchiriya

This movie stars Sushant Singh Rajput, Manoj Bajpayee, Bhumi Pednekar, Ranvir Shorey, Ashutosh Rana, and many more.

The movie is an action movie with a complex premise based on the Chambal Valley in 1970.

A group of dacoits split after their leader gets killed and they decide to run away. They meet Indumati and Khushi who is also chased by some people to be killed.

It has a good IMDB rating of 7.6.

This movie was directed by Udta Punjab fame Abhishek Chaubey.

It is available on ZEE5.


8. Do Dooni Chaar

This movie stars Legendary Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Singh, Archit Krishna & Aditi Vasudev.

This movie is a comedy film which makes you chuckle in so so many scenes. The main family wants to raise their living by buying a car and all is up to the head of the family, who is a school teacher to do this.

It has a good IMDB rating of 7.6.

This movie was directed by Habib Faisal.

It is available on Netflix.


9. Tigers

This movie stars Emraan Hashmi & Geetanjali Thapa.

This movie was showcased in Toronto in 2014 but was delayed long enough to get released in the digital space in 2018.

A pharmaceutical salesman in Pakistan comes to know that the company he is associated with working with is responsible for the death of many babies.

It has a good IMDB rating of 7.2.

This movie was directed by Danis Tanovic.

It is available on ZEE5.


10. Masaan

This movie stars Richa Chadha, Sanjay Mishra, Vicky Kaushal & Shweta Tripathi.

I thought let's end this list with a bang of a movie and I could not think of any better than Masaan.

This movie is all kinds of beautiful, with breaking societal norms, heart-wrenching soundtrack, heart-breaking scenes.

This movie is a combination of 4 different stories along the Ganga River.

I don't want to spoil anything, and I Highly Highly Highly Recommend this movie to be watched.

Special Mention again to its soundtrack consisting "Tu Kisi Rail Si", "Mann Kasturi", & "Bhor" - these are phenomenal songs which you won't leave you many years later in the distant future also.
