Remembering Sushant Singh Rajput & His Filmography!

Legendary Sushant Singh Rajput has done few but very impactful movies in his life. Today, we share details on each of his films and how they were hard-hitting and amazing in many aspects and will be relevant even throughout the future with many years to come. This is our way of remembering and giving respect as much as we could to the late entertainer!

1. Kai Po Che! (Debut Film) - 2013

This was the movie that made audiences love him even more than he was loved in the daily soap "Pavitra Rishta" as Manav Deshmukh & "Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil" as Preet Juneja. Sushant as the energetic, charismatic, hot-headed Ishaan Bhatt stole the show as his portrayal of a cricketer and trainer.

The basic storyline is - The 3 leads who are best of friends start a business to earn money in which Ishaan teaches cricket to other kids. They meet a kid with hyper-reflex in cricket and Ishaan starts focusing on that boy more, and things start getting heated up and result in a very chaotic climax which you might not have guessed.

The movie is adapted from the Chetan Bhagat novel "The 3 Mistakes Of My Life" and is directed by Abhishek Kapoor. It featured music by "Amit Trivedi" and it rocked!

It has a good IMDB rating of 7.6.

2. Shuddh Desi Romance - 2013

This movie was a romantic, comedy, drama film with light-hearted dialogues and scenes. Sushant as "Raghu" really rocked the character as a tourist guide in Jaipur who just wants someone in his life to love and that's it. How he meets the 2 actresses and how their lives intertwine and they come out of it is how the story progresses. It was a light rom-com to spend some time of your life with your loved ones with a very good soundtrack.

It is directed by "Band Baaja Baaraat", "Ladies vs. Ricky Bahl" & "Fan" fame Maneesh Sharma.

It has an average IMDB rating of 5.7.

3. PK - 2014

Yes, he was not in many parts of the movie, but, his role was very important for the story to progress and make people connect more. There are very few people who have yet not seen this movie, but, if you are one of them, then, what are you still doing by waiting? Go and watch this amazing movie now and thank us later. We have lost our lovely Sarfraz Yousuf!

The basic storyline is - Aamir Khan Sir's character is an alien who comes from another planet and loses his remote to a human being and just wants to acquire that remote back to go back to his planet. What all happens when he finds out that there are multiple religions in which people believe and many things which are considered wrong on this planet occurs with him.

It is directed by Rajkumar Hirani Sir of "Munna Bhai M.B.B.S", "Lage Raho Munna Bhai", "3 Idiots" & "Sanju" fame. It has a very good IMDB rating of 8.1.

4. Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! - 2015

This is one film that was way ahead of its time and is still as amazing and mind-cracking as it was when it was released way back in 2015.

The basic storyline is - Byomkesh Bakshy is just fresh out of college when he finds out that his friend Ajit's father Bhuvan has been missing. He digs deeper into this missing case to find out Bhuvan and unravels a whole bunch of conspiracies that will unsettle his life and Calcutta. Special mention to its beautiful musical score and songs which is proof of how the movie was way ahead of its time.

It is directed by "Khosla Ka Ghosla!", "Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!", "LSD: Love, Sex Aur Dhokha" & "Shanghai" fame Dibakar Banerjee.

It has a good IMDB rating of 7.6.

5. M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story - 2016

Any cricket fans out there, who have not seen this movie? None, yes, we knew it. This is such an amazing movie with immensely true and groundbreaking acting by Legendary Sushant Singh Rajput.

When you watch it for the first time, you'll love the movie, characters, story & acting. But, when you watch it again closely, you'll observe that Sushant as M.S.Dhoni has taken each little detail of our former captain and acted it as close as possible! This is one of those movies which was a Blockbuster in 2016 and is still seen by many and is still one of the overall best films ever made. Adding to it, what an amazing soundtrack this movie. Almost every song is amazing and acts like a cherry on top of the cake!

We went in as an M.S.Dhoni fan but came out as a Sushant Singh Rajput fan even more.

It is directed by Neeraj Pandey of "A Wednesday", "Special 26" & "Baby" fame.

It has a good IMDB rating of 7.7.

6. Raabta - 2017

This movie had a very good music album with amazing songs like "Ik Vaari Aa", "Lambiyaan Si Judaiyaan", "Darasal", "Main Tera Boyfriend", "Raabta Title Track" & "Sadda Move". All of them being amazing.

This movie had a good plot but an awful screenplay which leads to the movie being a flop. But, anyhow, we still watched it for our amazing Sushant.

The basic storyline is - The 2 main leads meet and fall for each other. They are having a good time when one of them crosses paths with someone who is a reincarnated lover of them and is determined to being their lover again.

It is directed by Dinesh Vijan.

It has an IMDB rating of 4.2.

7. Kedarnath - 2018

This movie was a decent romance drama movie with the debut of Sara Ali Khan.

It had breathtaking cinematography with Kedarnath at its center in full glory. It is already so beautiful but was seen even more beautiful on the big screen.

The basic storyline is - Mansoor Khan (Sushant Singh Rajput) is a Muslim porter in Kedarnath where he meets Mandakini 'Mukku' Mishra (Sara Ali Khan) and they fall in love. Mukku is a very chaotic & fiery girl with saying what's in her mind. She is a Hindu & Mansoor as being a Muslim, there is a family war between them. A beautiful love story set in the backdrop of Kedarnath floods just missed some points and was an average affair at the box office.

Kudos to the soundtrack once again by Amit Trivedi for showcasing his immense talent through songs that get stuck with you and are still in our heads.

It is directed by Abhishek Kapoor again, who directed Sushant's Debut Film "Kai Po Che!".

8. Sonchiriya - 2019

This movie has already made its place in our previous post which covered under-rated movies which deserve a second chance. And it does.

With such an ensemble cast and a complex yet engaging storyline with its perfect tone of a dacoit theme, it was an intense and gripping movie.

The basic storyline is - When a group of dacoits gets split after their leader is killed, they decide to run away. On the way, they meet Indumati and Khushi who are chased by the former's family to be killed. Things take twists & turn and result in a very engaging movie experience.

It is directed by Abhishek Chaubey of "Ishqiya", "Dedh Ishqiya" & "Udta Punjab" fame.

It has a good IMDB rating of 7.7.

It is available on ZEE5.

9. Chhichhore - 2019

This movie is the best movie of Sushant Singh Rajput in our aspect and I think many of you will agree with us on this one.

This movie had everything - Amazing Story, Beautiful Music Album, Mesmerizing Characters, A Important & Sensitive Topic which was taken utmost care of while presenting & it finally gave the viewers everything.

We cried a lot when we heard that Sushant had done what he did when this movie exactly covered that aspect and how that's not the way to do and we have to live our life.

The way Chhichhore & Sonchiriya released the same year clearly shows the immense talent & dedication Sushant had in the very same year.

If you have not watched this movie, we would HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY suggest this movie to be watched as soon as you can because trust us, you won't regret it even for a second.

It is directed by "Dangal" fame Nitesh Tiwari.

It has a very good IMDB rating of 8.1.

10. Drive - 2019

This movie was an awful attempt to create a film somewhat similar to "The Fast & Furious Franchise" but with our very own Bollywood touches. It was a very mediocre script with even worse execution by the director & producer of the movie. You might know what I am talking about.

The basic storyline is - A notorious thief allies with a street racer for a grand heist involving an elaborate game of deceit with authorities, who have their dirty secrets.

It had bad VFX which looked like a video game more & less of a movie. Nonetheless, we watched it for Sushant & he did his best to save this already failed movie with his good acting.

It is directed by Tarun Mansukhani.

It has a very low IMDB rating of 2.6.

It is available on Netflix.

11. Dil Bechara

This is a movie which is adapted from the John Green novel "The Fault In Our Stars" which is already an amazing Hollywood movie with the same name.

Oscar-winner A.R.Rahman has been roped in for the music album of this movie.

It was supposedly going to release on some OTT platform, but, now after what has happened, we as fans wish for the makers to release this film in theatres and we will storm into theatres to witness our amazing & one of our favorites Sushant on the big screen for one last time!

But the release in theatres is not possible, so Disney+ Hotstar is going to stream the movie from the 24th July 2020 for all subscribers & even the non-subscribers just for SUSHANT!

It is directed by Mukesh Chhabra.
